A Dream or Reality?

Chivalrous knight after a longtime battle
Returns to his island and lies on grass
Enjoying the cool breeze of sea in reverie!

Eyes closed he wanders as in a deep dream
Feeling as if flying as albatross floating in sky
Basking in Nature under Sunshine on a cold day!

Day ends in beautiful sunset with stars popping
One after the other twinkling as brilliant diamond
Kindling dreams of fairy tale never told before!

Soon he comes to life and sees his head resting
On the lap of a mermaid bright as silver star of sky
Singing sweet song of fantasy elevating to sublimity!

Is it dream or reality? Feels the knight with frailty;
Next moment he realizes he is still lying on grass alone...!

Dale's Cone of Experience

Dale has created Cone of Experiences in which he has arranged teaching aids according to the experience and how much these aid are close to the reality. He says that the more senses we use, the more close the aids are near to real life. He has divided them into three groups.

 The first one is learning by doing which means all materials that help students to acquire knowledge through doing or practice. This group is the best way of learning because we use more senses in it. However, it is dangerous , expensive and time consuming.

The second group is learning by observation which means all teaching aids that help students acquire knowledge through watching and listening together, watching only or listening only.

The third group is learning by obstruction in which the students see verbal symbols that have certain meanings such as seeing the letter H on the street which means that there is a hospital in that area.

I’ll not let cruel wolves come with a whelp,

Yes I care for mom and those in need

For my senses stand ready to leap indeed’’.

In my opinion, instructional technology contains many desciplians such as methods, materials,environment and the human and non-human resourses. It is the utiliazation and evaluation of these materials. therefore, instructional technology is both materials and the process of using these materialsin teaching and learning in order to achieve purposes and help students to build knowledge.

 The previous lecture about Design a Multimedia Instructional software was useful and beneficial because I have learned how to differentaite between the linear and the branched and how to use each one .
